Lubricants for Cement Plants: Kilns, Crushers, Conveyors and Gearboxes
Selecting high-temperature greases and open gear lubricants for the extreme conditions of cement manufacturing.
Dr. Robert Chen
Technical Director

Cement plants present one of the harshest environments for lubricants: extreme heat, heavy shock loads, and severe dust contamination.
Critical Application Zones
- Rotary Kilns: Open gear lubricants must withstand extreme temperatures and provide a tenacious film to protect girth gears.
- Crushers: High shock loads require EP gear oils (ISO VG 320-680) and heavy-duty lithium complex greases.
- Conveyors: Bearings exposed to dust require greases with excellent sealing properties and mechanical stability.
